I at times will have the children help act out the story or use construction paper for different sounds to make during the story when they hear a certain word. I need to be reminded of this from time to time myself. When the children tell you part of the story that is so encouraging, that you know they did hear you and that they are paying attention. So much out there in the curriculum world is moving towards, "if you can show up with a pulse, you can teach." The technical word I've heard used for this is hogwash! The last thing I want for my kids is a teacher that comes to class with curriculum that's marketed and encouraging them to just "wing it" as you go. I wonder how many churches would tolerate pastors that do that in the pulpit for the Sunday sermon every week? Why should we put up with that behavior in our classrooms then?Steelsmittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15576189737709011715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2520511910850375913.post-33197409742475284262011-05-25T10:13:55.054-07:002011-05-25T10:13:55.054-07:00These are terrific reminders for all of life's...These are terrific reminders for all of life's communication needs. The Spring Lesson 1 story for Ages 4 & 5 is Jesus making a sick boy well from John 4:46-53. The Bible verse is "Give thanks to the Lord. His love is forever." (See 1 Chronicles 16:34.) Kids can tell the way Jesus helped a family learn about His love, name ways he or she learns about God's love--and best of all--sing or pray to thank God for His love. (I know my kids will love the play dough and balloon activities!)Sherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16576040653571462279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2520511910850375913.post-33105651553139820822011-03-02T12:14:45.251-08:002011-03-02T12:14:45.251-08:00I ordered our spring curriculum but it hasn't ...I ordered our spring curriculum but it hasn't arrived yet (any day!).
